STEVENS POINT - Two of the preseason favorites in the Wisconsin Valley Conference baseball race slugged it out for 19 innings Tuesday night.

And when the dust settled at Bukolt Park, Wausau West and Stevens Point Area Senior High came away with a hard-fought split in their doubleheader.

Justin Duffy's two-out single in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Warriors to a 1-0 win in the opener, and Mitch Mallek walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning to give SPASH a 4-3 win in the nightcap. ...
