A cousin of a Peshtigo man charged with killing his girlfriend last weekend said Thursday the two had a complicated, sometimes stormy relationship in which the pair "couldn't live with each other, but couldn't live without each other."

Trish Waschbisch and Brent Kaempf had frequent disagreements in the years they were a couple, but usually decided to give the relationship another try, said Kathleen Agresti, who said she is Kaempf's cousin. She said the couple would spend weekends with Agresti's family during visits to the Chicago area.
