UWGB to play in Great Alaska Shootout next season

The last time the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men's basketball team played in the Great Alaska Shootout, it was one of the premier early season tournaments.

The field when UWGB finished sixth in 1993 was: N.C. State, Purdue, Wake Forest, Hawaii, Portland, Weber State and the host, Alaska-Anchorage.

When the Phoenix returns this November, it will be against a less-heralded field. UWGB will open the tournament against Pepperdine on Nov. 28. The other first-round games are Tulsa-Indiana State, TCU-Alaska Anchorage and Denver-Harvard. Harvard, which beat New Mexico in the round of ...
