Editor: The Marshfield community generously contributed well more than 6,000 nonperishable food items April 20 to support our local food pantries.

We would like to extend a thank you to all those who helped with the Scouting for Food drive - those who donated food, distributed and picked up the bags, unloaded the donations from vehicles, sorted the food and helped with setup and cleanup.

We would also like to thank Joe Kress from the Samoset Boy Scout Council for coordinating the 2013 Scouting for Food drive.
