City Band announces auditions

The Stevens Point City Band has announced auditions for its summer concert season. All woodwinds and all new personnel need to audition. Brass and percussion personnel who auditioned last year are welcome to re-audition if they choose.

Auditions will be held in the Music Department of the Noel Fine Arts Center at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 7 in Room 361, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. May 8 in Room 361, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. May 9 in Room 361, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 13 in Room 201 and from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 14 in Room 361. Auditions for students who are returning to the area from college and plan to play in the band this summer also are invited to audition from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 20 in Room 240.

Concerts will be performed at 7 p.m. every Wednesday, June 5 to July 31, in the band shell at Pfiffner Pioneer Park. The band rehearses from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning May 28. For more information, call band director Kathy Kawleski at 715-345-0061.
