The Stevens Point Heart Walk, to benefit the American Heart Association, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Pfiffner Pioneer Park. The event features 1- and 3-mile walks.

There is no fee to register, but all walkers are encouraged to collect or make a personal donation. Those who raise at least $100 will receive a free Heart Walk T-shirt. Registration can be done the day of the event or in advance at www.stevenspointwiwalk.org.

Proceeds from the walk support the American Heart Association's research, education and advocacy programs to fight the No. 1 killer in Wisconsin: heart disease.
