"Promoting cultural understanding in a fun and festive environment." That is the mission of the Portage County Cultural Festival, which celebrates its 21st year on May 11 at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

"The Cultural Festival is the epitome of a community celebration; all generations are there, and it's free," said Terri Greuel, a member of the event's steering committee. "People love the festival; they look forward to it every year."
