Legislator wants money dumped for single-vendor SIS system

State Rep. Scott Krug wants to remove funding in Gov. Scott Walker's 2013-15 budget for the state's single-vendor student information system after an appeal by a Stevens Point-based company was rejected Thursday.

The state Department of Public Instruction rejected a protest filed by Skyward Inc., who lost out on the contract to run the system in the state's schools. Skyward had filed the protest in February, arguing the process awarding the bid to Minnesota's Infinite Campus was unfair.
