A judge's ruling this week is "great news" regarding the removal of toxic PCBs from a section of the Fox River in Brown County, U.S. Justice Department officials said.

In a decision issued Tuesday, District Judge William Griesbach granted an injunction requiring seven companies to comply with an order governing cleanup of PCBs from a section of river between the De Pere dam to the bay of Green Bay. The state and federal governments had sought the injunction in order to continue the cleanup, which began more than four years ago.
