Green Bay area counties saw anywhere from a 2.5 percent to nearly 9 percent increase in direct spending by visitors last year.

Numbers released by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism Friday indicated spending increases ranged from about 2.53 percent in Menominee County to 8.85 percent in Marinette County.

The Wisconsin Department of Tourism said the state saw about a 4.7 percent growth in spending in the tourism economy last year. ...
