Oneida Nation secures $40,000 USDA grant

ONEIDA - The Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin recieved one of 110 U.S. Department of Agricultre Rural Development Value-Added Producer Grants awarded this week.

The grant is aimed at helping "agricultural producers increase their income by expanding marketing opportunities, creating new products or developing new uses for existing products."

The grant to the Oneida nation is for $40,000 and is one of four grants awarded in Wisconsin.

This is the first time that tribal entities have received funding through the program.
