It all started with "The Rocketeer."

The 1991 action film about a pilot who finds a jetpack didn't live up to expectations when it was released. And its screening during AirVenture 2012 may not have drawn visitors in by the thousands.

But the screening last year at Ford's Fly-In Theater played a key role in persuading Disney to agree to an advance screening of its new animated feature "Planes" on Aug. 2 during AirVenture 2013 - a full week before it hits theaters. ...
