Collins Marsh Nature Center renamed to honor game manager

Fifty years ago, Leslie "Les" Neustadter, a Wisconsin Conservation Department game manager, helped acquire the land that would become the Collins Marsh Wildlife Area.

On May 13, 2011, Neustadter died at the age of 85. Members of Manitowoc Conservation Education Inc., will honor Neustadter on Sunday, renaming the Collins Marsh Nature Study Center to the Neustadter Nature Center. The center will be one of only two state-owned buildings afflitated with the Wisconsin Department Natural Resources to be named after a person in northeastern Wisconsin, according to Rick Neustadter, 62, Les' ...
