Update: McDill Pond refill on hold until next week

Officials say they won't know until next week when they can start filling McDill Pond.

Mayor Andrew Halverson said he spoke with representatives of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service today , who told him the agency would need more information about the possibility of geese nesting on the pond bottom before it could decide if a federal permit will be required before officials can refill the pond.

"We're doing what we can to move this process along," Halverson said. "We're hoping to have this resolved by next week." ...
