When I first met Sister Mary Zita Klimek 10 years ago, I found her to be a quiet and prayerful person. She has a great sense of humor and always reaches out to help others.

This year she is marking 50 years of ministry as a Holy Cross Sister. She is the first one to say that the time has flown by quickly. "The Holy Cross Sisters have changed and grown spiritually, taken up new ministries and let go of others," Sister Mary Zita said.

Born in Merrill to Harry and Theresa (Oknewski) Klimek, she was given the name Barbara. She entered Holy Cross Convent on Sept. 1, 1960, and made her First Profession on Aug. 22, ...
