According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the fire danger for today is low.

For local burning permit information, call 423-1150 and press 1. For information on obtaining a permit, click here The Wisconsin Rapids fire protection area includes Adams and Portage counties, as well as parts of Juneau, Wood and Marathon counties.

As of May 1, there were 33 wildfires in the Wisconsin Rapids protection area, burning 45.71 acres.
