Baileys Harbor: Springtime slowly settles in

Well, spring may have actually sprung in Baileys Harbor. We observed the last hill of snow melting from our yard on April 30. The snow fences have come down and have been collected by the county workers and temperatures have actually made it into the 60s.

One of the most important signs of spring was that the early this week, Maxwelton Braes golf course in town set out the tee box markers and the flags are waving on the greens. In fact, we spotted our first actual golfers on the morning of May 1.

That was only about six or seven weeks later than last year. Oh well, better late than never.Frogs at last ...
