Ellison Bay/Gills Rock: Library display marks Norway Independence Day

The vast Norwegian population of Door County is anxiously awaiting Syttende Mai, or Independence Day, on May 17. The constitution of 1814 giving Norway its freedom from Sweden and Denmark was signed at Eidsvold, Norway, on that day. Happy Independence Day to all of you Norwegians.

In honor of the day, there is a Scandinavian display in the showcase in the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove library with all things Norwegian.
