Houdini fundraising nears goal, CN donates $25K in trees

Fundraising for Houdini Plaza received a $25,000 jolt from a railroad company Wednesday, putting the project $100,000 shy of its $500,000 goal.

Canadian National officials presented a check to Mayor Tim Hanna on Wednesday to pay for 27 trees of five varieties to go into the new square.

Karen Harkness, the city's economic and community development director, said the trees and sod will be the last to be installed at Houdini this summer. ...
