An educational presentation on understanding the truth and dispelling the myths surrounding registered sex offenders and sexual assaults will be presented on Tuesday, May 14, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Redgranite Elementary School. This presentation will provide attendees with an opportunity to better understand the law and how it applies to the offender as well as the community. There will not be a discussion of particular cases or situations.

The main speaker will be Registry Specialist Valerie Santana from the Department of Corrections. In an effort to ensure that all attendees have a better understanding of the legal process from incarceration to release to supervision other local officials have been invited to participate. These include representatives from Community Corrections, Sheriff's Office and Human Services.

The public is encouraged to attend to be better informed.
