Bill Ferrario was like many high school football players in Pennsylvania: He dreamed of playing for Penn State.

Told by a Penn State defensive coach he wasn't tough enough to be a lineman in the Big Ten Conference, Ferrario never quit.

Ferrario's chance came when Wisconsin coach Barry Alvarez responded to a hand-written letter and invited Ferrario for a visit to the Madison campus. It was then when Alvarez offered Ferrario a scholarship. ...
