Letters to the editor: Teachers make difference daily in students lives

6:22 PM, May 3, 2013  |  Comments

May 7 is National Teacher Appreciation Day. We honor teachers and many other educational professionals in the Oshkosh Area School District and in communities across the nation on this date. We appreciate their hard work, countless hours, and commitment to our children on a daily basis.

Educators are the heart of our schools in the Oshkosh Area School District. Teachers and other educational professionals make a difference in the lives of students everyday with their knowledge, guidance, and compassion. Teachers have the ability to help children reach their fullest potential and can instill a love of learning that can last a lifetime.

Everyone has had a memorable teacher in their lives. There is always one who has been their inspiration and has helped shape who they have become as young adults, John F. Kennedy once said, "Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation." Educators in the Oshkosh Area School District continue this inspiration and tradition.
