With as wet a spring as Wisconsin has had so far, many of the state's rivers are close to bursting. Chuck Lemieux loves it, if only for the waterfalls.

Wisconsin's northernmost regions contain dozens of waterfalls, and the biggest, Big Manitou Falls in Pattison State Park just south of Superior, can make the ground shake when it has the full force of the river behind it, Lemieux said.

Most of the largest waterfalls in Wisconsin are at least a three-hour drive from Wausau - and some a fair hike once you've parked - but Lemieux said the time taken and gas used are well worth the views. ...
