Weston farmers market to open Saturday

The ninth-annual Weston farmers market is up and running and features new vendors and conveniences this season.

Renee Hodel, taxpayers relations coordinator for the village, organizes the market every year. She said customers in June will be able to use debit cards to buy $5 tokens for use at any booth at the market, similar to the EBT/FoodShare program that began last summer in Weston.

In 2012, the Weston farmers market began accepting FoodShare, or EBT cards. FoodShare users receive tokens at the market tent with their EBT cards, and tokens can be used to buy food products including fruit, ...
