Hockey: Pair of Tritons are selected in USHL draft

Two Green Bay Notre Dame sophomores were selected in the USHL Phase I draft on Monday.

Formally known as the futures draft, the Phase I draft for 1997 birth-year players saw Tony Stillwell get picked by the Sioux City Musketeers in the second round (19th overall) and Sam McCormick selected by the Youngstown Phantoms in the seventh round (99th).

Following in Tim and Luke Davison's footsteps, Stillwell marks the third straight year a Notre Dame defenseman has been selected. In his two season with the Tritons, the 5-foot-7, 145-pounder has recorded eight goals and 38 assists with a plus-42 ...
