Mayor expects Moody's to lift 'negative' outlook

Moody's Investors Service has assigned an A1 rating with a negative outlook to the city's issuance of some $10 million in general obligation promissory notes.

Mayor Justin Nickels told City Council members Monday evening that Moody's "is impressed with what is happening with city budget lines" but "wants to see more of a track record" of spending in balance with an increase in fund balance.

Nickels said he expects that after city officials forward to Moody's the 2012 comprehensive audited financial report later this year, the investors service will remove the negative outlook linked to ...
