An officer on patrol saw two men who appeared to be drunk begin to get into a vehicle at 1:49 a.m. today in the 100 block of North Central Avenue. He asked the men if they had a safe ride home and they walked away from the vehicle. A few minutes later the officer saw the vehicle pull out of the parking lot and head south on Maple Avenue. The officer followed. A parked semi-truck blocked an alley the vehicle entered. The men stopped, left the vehicle running and ran away. The vehicle was abandoned and towed.
