A former Oostburg clerk-treasurer accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from village coffers has waived his right to a jury trial and will instead allow a Sheboygan judge to try the case without testimony from a single witness.

Under an agreement detailed in a hearing Monday afternoon in Sheboygan County Circuit Court, Kim Simmelink agreed to allow Judge Terence Bourke to render a decision based solely on a review of documents containing facts agreed upon by both sides in the case.
