Six apply for School Board opening

Six candidates will be considered next week by the Stevens Point Area Public School Board for its open seat.

Jeff Presley, Sam Levin, Kurt Lepak, Patricia Baker, Frances Fulton and Meg Erler applied for the position by Monday's deadline. The board will fill the vacancy during its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 13 at the Bliss Center. The candidate selected will serve until the 2014 spring election.

Presley is a former School Board member who served for three years before losing re-election in 2011. He also is a member of the Portage County Board. Levin also serves on the County Board, and the ...
