ADAMS - James Kitfer wasn't even supposed to be playing varsity baseball on Monday night. He was scheduled to be playing for the JV team.

But, after coach received a call his starting third baseman Trevor McManus suffered a concussion over the weekend, Kitfer was summoned to the varsity team and scored the go-ahead run in Adams-Frienship's 3-1 South Central Conference victory over Westfield.

Kitfer singled in the bottom of the fifth and Chris Becker smacked a two-out two-run double to give the Green Devils their first conference win of the year. ...
