Federal health plan will be available

I read Thomas Behnke's letter regarding don't cut BadgerCare with interest. He should be able to get free or low-cost health insurance by signing up with the exchange on Oct. 1, 2013. On Jan. 1, the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, will take effect. This law was passed in 2010 by all Democrats; no Republicans signed the bill. The Supreme Court has upheld this as a tax. Recently Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., declared this law a "train wreck" and declared that he would not run in 2014. He did sign the bill, though.

You do have a choice. Wisconsin has decided to let the federal government handle the implementation, so remember to sign up; you will be able to do this online, and it is only three pages long.
