Wisconsin Rapids woman charged with stealing from employer

A 42-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman who managed an assisted living center is facing a felony charge after authorities accused her of misusing the business's credit card.

Danielle M. Schalk is charged with felony theft in a business setting. If convicted, Schalk faces 31/2 years in prison. Her initial appearance is scheduled for June 10.

According to the criminal complaint, Schalk was a manager at Our House Senior Living, 2711 12th St. S., when she used a company credit card to purchase more than $4,000 in personal items.
