The two certainties in life may be death and taxes. When it comes to high school athletics, it's realignment.

Hang around prep sports as long as I have and it seems schools get moved around about as often as military families. Sometimes the reasons are justified and other times the final product is nothing more than a Band-Aid on a chronic problem.

The Packerland Conference is a classic example of each. Initially formed in 1970, the league was doomed from the start with 10 schools equally separated by miles and miles of no man's land. A disparity in enrollment didn't help either. ...
