Teen arrested after homeowner finds him going through refrigerator

May 8, 2013

APPLETON — A 17-year-old boy is facing a burglary charge after an Appleton homeowner found him going through his garage refrigerator on Tuesday.

After the homeowner confronted him, the teen left the home in the 1600 block of East John Street around 8:30 p.m. Police found him soon after and he admitted that he went into the garage with plans to take whatever he found in the refrigerator, said Sgt. Dave Lund, of the Appleton Police Department.

The teen was walking down the street when he saw the open garage, Lund said. He was arrested and booked into Outagamie County Jail on burglary and criminal trespass.
