Appleton’s Cooper Watson and Brett Gruber were drafted by the United States Hockey League on Tuesday.
Watson was selected by the Waterloo Black Hawks in the ninth round (132 overall), while Gruber was taken by the Sioux City Musketeers in the 15th round (214 overall).
Watson, a defenseman, skated for Appleton United. He tallied 11 goals and 15 assists in 27 games this past season.
Gruber, a center, played for Green Bay Notre Dame and finished with 27 goals and 29 assists in 26 games. The Tritons advanced to the WIAA state semifinals before falling to Verona.
The USHL is the highest level junior hockey league in the United States.
