Suring man pleads guilty to federal arson charges

A Suring man accused of setting several fires in northeast Wisconsin has pleaded guilty in federal court to igniting fires in a church and two taverns in Oconto County.

Drew Christensen, 28, entered the pleas Friday on three counts of arson of a building used in interstate commerce. The prosecution and the defense agreed to recommend at sentence of five years in prison on each count, which two of the counts to run consecutively.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 29 before U.S. District Court Judge William Griesbach. The maximum sentence is 20 years, with a minimum of five years imprisonment, on ...
