Letter: Don't be complacent about abortion

Editor: Every day I think of the holocaust that is occurring in America. More than 4,000 babies are murdered per day and more than 55 million babies have died since Roe vs. Wade in 1973.

Presently, a Philadelphia doctor, Kermit Gosnell, is on trial for 43 criminal counts, including eight counts of murder: one adult and seven newborn infants. The horrifying facts about the abortionist and the practice he ran for years has not been heard through the mainstream media. The abortion industry does not want us to hear about it, or any of the similar tragic accounts.

However, Abby Johnson, a former employee of Planned Parenthood, had the courage to write the book "Unplanned," a dramatic true story of her experience working for Planned Parenthood. Another informative source regarding the horrifying destruction of life is the documentary "Blood Money," narrated by Dr. Alveda King. A muti-billion dollar industry that literally thrives on the destruction of unborn babies and the traumatizing of young pregnant woman is exposed in these works.

Get informed and talk about it with family and friends. Vote for officials who defend life. Pray for the babies, moms and for God to have mercy on us. Support pro-life groups so they can continue to educate people and help people contemplating abortion or who have had abortions. Do not remain complacent; refusing to take action makes you responsible as well. Promote the sacredness of life from the moment of conception to the last natural breath.
