Appleton North alone in first in FVA girls' soccer

The standings atop the Fox Valley Association for girls' soccer were every bit as messy as rain-soaked athletic fields around the area on Thursday.

Appleton North's 2-0 victory over the Papermakers did a lot to clear up the muck, however, as the Lightning outshot the Papermakers 18-6 to upend Kimberly and grab the lone spot atop the FVA.

North improved to 6-0 in the FVA and 12-3 overall. Kimberly (11-2) suffered its first conference loss of the season and is tied for third with Oshkosh West at 4-1. Neenah is in second at 5-1. ...
