Puppies survive fire that destroys Lomira home

A family of 10 American bulldogs staying in the basement of Lomira home survived a fire Wednesday night.

The fire broke out at the home of Kenneth Henry Jr., W2083 N. Bluemound Road, just before 10 p.m., according to Dodge County Sheriff's Department dispatch logs. Henry Jr. is a dog breeder, according to Dodge County Sheriff's Department officials.

There was no one home except for the dogs in the basement, said Knowles Fire Chief Jason Kuehl. The structure of the house was salvaged, but it is considered a total loss, Kuehl said. ...
