Manitowoc officials urge, grateful for citizen help in adopting parks

When Shawn McNamara heard about the city's new Adopt-A-Park program there was no doubt which one she'd try and convince her brother and three sisters to choose.

They took first dibs on Red Arrow Park on the city's south side.

"We were happy to get this park ... we grew up just up the hill on Lakeside Boulevard and spent most of our childhood down here," McNamara said, taking a break during a spring cleanup work party with a dozen adults and children in the extended McNamara Family clan. ...
