Police

Police placed an emergency mental commitment hold on a 45-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man at 2:54 p.m. Thursday after Marshfield Clinic nurses became concerned the man was going to harm himself.

A 63-year-old Marshfield man was warned by police for allegedly violating the terms of a temporary restraining order against him after making calls to Security Health Plan, 1515 N. St. Joesph's Ave., to complain about its services.

A 28-year-old Marshfield woman reported at 1:35 p.m. Thursday she was the victim of identity theft after her bank account was used to pay for a California utility bill of about $420.

Police transported an adult tiger-striped cat from the 900 block of West Blodgett Street to the Park View Pet Motel at 6.25 p.m. Wednesday.

Police transported a tiger-striped kitten from the 400 block of South Evergreen Avenue to the Park View Pet Motel at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Fire, ambulance

Marshfield Fire and Rescue responded to a false alarm in the 600 block of South Cedar Avenue at 2:22 a.m. Wednesday.

The department was canceled en route to the 800 block of West 14th Street at 8 a.m., and the 11000 block of Brookview Court at 12:16 a.m. Wednesday.

Ambulances responded to 11 medical emergencies in Marshfield and one in Arpin on Wednesday.
