Dan Douglas looks back to when he was a wide-eyed freshman with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point baseball team, and still has to pinch himself.

Here was this wet-behind-the-ears newcomer from East Troy just trying to fit in with one of the premier NCAA Division III teams, and suddenly he was playing a major role on the ultimate stage in the sport.

An injury to Cody Koback opened the door for Douglas to receive extensive playing time as a freshman. And the thought of playing at the Division III World Series that year still boggles his mind. ...
