Cory Chisel has big plans for downtown Appleton this summer.

The Fox River Valley native singer/songwriter is organizing an inaugural Mile of Music Festival, an ambitious undertaking that will bring more than 80 musical acts to College Avenue over a four-day period in early August.

The festival, set for Aug. 8-11, will feature live music hosted by a variety of venues - including downtown bars and restaurants - and conclude with two headlining performances at Lawrence Memorial Chapel on the Lawrence University campus. About 120 shows are planned at 40 locations. ...
