Along with warmer weather, good things are happening in our community.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the annual Manitowoc Eagles Aerie 706 awards dinner honoring protective service officers in our community. Each year the Eagles honor an outstanding member of the local police, fire and sheriff's departments as well as a county corrections officer.

This year the honorees were Manitowoc Fire Capt. Fred Pfile, City police officer Kirk Bessler, Deputy Sheriff Mitchell Geissler and Corrections Sgt. Mary Reel. Each was presented to the audience by their commanding officers, ...
