Delivery of new ambulances delayed

The delivery of two new ambulances for the Door County Emergency Services Department has been delayed, while the need for the new vehicles is becoming urgent.

The new truck-based emergency vehicles were supposed to be delivered last month.

However, County Emergency Services Director Eric Christensen told a County Board committee Thursday the Minneapolis firm selling the new rigs to the county recommended returning the vehicles to the manufacturer for additional work, due to defective paint on the vehicles' exteriors. ...
