Host farms sow the seeds for next year's Farm Technology Days (with video)

Ken Feltz said the call had to be made this week while getting ready to plant a field next to Burbank Road.

The field, which Feltz Family Farms leases, is spit into two 80-acre sections. One side was set to be planted with corn, another for alfalfa. But because of an extended winter season, Feltz said the alfalfa that was originally planted died.

"When we took a look; it was basically a total loss and it didn't make sense to replant. So, we switched and planted corn on that field and alfalfa on the other," said Feltz, 49. "Sometimes, that's how the weather works, and you adjust for what you need." ...
