The Fond du Lac Family YMCA will celebrate Armed Forces Day on Saturday, May 18, by inviting all active and veteran military personnel and their families to spend the day at the Y, at no charge.

Please present your military ID at the front desk, and enjoy a day of fun-filled activities. Join a fitness class, shoot some hoops, and splash in the pool. Check the Y's Website at www.fdlymca.org for the current schedules.

Armed Forces Day was conceived to provide support to members of the military and their families. "This event gives families going through similar struggles a chance to connect with each other," said Greg Giles, executive director/CEO at the Y. "That's exactly what the Y is here for."

The Y, partnered with the U.S. Department of Defense, offers free military outreach memberships to eligible military families. To learn more about the benefits of membership for your family, visit the Fond du Lac Family YMCA. For more information on eligibility, contact Military OneSource at www.militaryonesource.com; or 800-342-9647.

The Y is a cause-driven organization de-dicated to strength-ening communities through programs that promote youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. For more information about the Fond du Lac Family YMCA and the variety of programs offered, visit in person at 90 W. Second St. in Fond du Lac; call 921-3330; or visit online at www.fdl ymca.org
