Wis. 29 work won't affect access to Shawano Ave. businesses

Access to Shawano Avenue businesses will remain open during overnight highway closures related to the U.S. 41-Wisconsin 29 project.

State transportation officials said that closures planned this season for each road should not affect local traffic near the interchange, which is undergoing a multi-year reconstruction project. Wisconsin 29 is next slated to close at 7 p.m. Monday and reopen at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

"Local traffic won't be stopped. The DOT does not detour on local roads," DOT spokesman Mark Kantola said in an email. ...
