? Downtown Green Bay preserves and improves the social and economic climate in downtown Green Bay. By volunteering, you can meet new people and have fun while you create enthusiasm for a vibrant downtown area. Some opportunities include being a tour guide on the Gallery Night Trolley or assisting with the summer farmers market. Your organizational skills can also be put to use in the DGB office. Contact Molly Vandervest at (920) 438-7389 or go to www.downtowngreenbay.com.

? The Bridge-Between Retreat Center in Denmark is conducting its spring clean-up and planting program throughout May and June. The duties include cleaning out the gardens, flower beds and grounds. To schedule a time, contact Diane Eparvier at (920) 864-7230 or info@bridge-between.com.

? The Center for Childhood Safety's 23rd Annual Winners Wear Helmets distribution will be held May 21 and May 22, at the Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena. Bicycle helmets will be fitted for over 1,000 third-grade and Head Start students. Volunteers will receive training for fitting helmets, and experienced fitters will be available. Shifts available are 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contact Maria Turner at (920) 448-7081 or maria.turner@stvgb.org.
