HCE scholarship available

The Clark County Association for Home and Community Education is offering three $500 scholarships. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must: Originally be a Clark County resident; be in the process of completing one year or higher education beyond high school; have 24 credits by June 1; and have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.

To request an application, call the UW-Extension Office at 715-743-5121. Application can also be found at http://clark.uwex.edu/family-living-and-nutrition-education/family-living/home-community-education/ .

Applications are due on or before June 14. You can only receive this scholarship once.

Recent graduate

MANKATO, Minn. - Nicole Hudak of Medford graduated recently from Minnesota State University at Mankato with a Bachelor of Science degree in speech communication.

Senior awards

EAU CLAIRE - Eighty-four University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire seniors have been selected for 2012-13 to receive the Outstanding Senior Award and to appear in the 2013 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges." Local students selected include Ashley Howard, daughter of Lenny and Sue Howard of Loyal; Lacey Struensee, daughter of Michael and Sharon Stuensee of Neillsville; Lindy Bergman, child of Lois Haas and Lenny Bergman of Thorp; Calvin Gregorich, son of Fred and Jill Gregorich of Willard; and Jason Hansen, son of Douglas and Tammy Hansen of Willard.

Student honored

MILWAUKEE - Katherine Miller of Marshfield recently was presented with the Outstanding Contributions to Spiritual Development and Justice Education Student Leadership Award from Marquette University's Division of Student Affairs.

Scholarships awarded

Four nursing students recently were named recipients of this year's Marshfield Clinic Nursing Scholarships.

The clinic awarded a total of $3,000 to eligible full-time nursing students enrolled in a Wisconsin Bachelor of Science nursing program.

The scholarship winners are: Natalie Mayeux of Marshfield, Viterbo University; Sarah Feig of Marshfield, UW-Eau Claire; Jani Morgan of Park Falls, UW-Green Bay and Bellin College; and Jordyn Schemenauer of Marathon, UW-Eau Claire.
